Exciting Classes and Events for the 2024 Season at Wee Wah Park and Beach Club (Posted 5/24/23)

Dear Members and Friends,

We are thrilled to announce that we have a wonderful season coming up at the Wee Wah Park and Beach Club. Included here is our programing for the season and how to become a member.

This year we have partnered with some fantastic yoga and fitness instructors for this season! Below you will find descriptions of the diverse classes we are offering, designed to cater to all fitness levels and interests.

In addition to our fitness programming, we are introducing family activities that promise fun for everyone. Our first event of the season will be a Touch-a-Truck party on June 30th from 10 AM to 12 PM. The Department of Public Works and local emergency services will bring their trucks, diggers, and backhoes for the children to explore and touch in real life. This is just the beginning! The Committee is also planning art and craft events and several other exciting activities. Stay tuned for more details soon.

As we prepare for the opening this Friday at 1 PM, we kindly remind you to pay your dues and sign the waiver beforehand to ensure a smooth start to the season. Please sign up and purchase a membership HERE if you have not done so already. It’s a sign-up, then payment, then sign the waiver to complete the registration. You can also drop your check and application off in person at the Village Office.

If you have any event or party ideas in mind, we would love to hear from you! Please email us at WeeWahTP@gmail.com with your suggestions. Your feedback and ideas are always welcome and

appreciated.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you at Wee Wah Park and sharing another wonderful season together.

Walking Workout with Stretch. (All levels)

Get 4000 steps in this fun low-impact cardio class.
This 45-minute workout burns calories, strengthens your heart, increases stamina and will boost your mood. We do simple choreography like marching, step touches, knee lifts and grapevines. It's inspired by low impact aerobics classes from the 90s. We finish it off with a ten-minute stretch.

Equipment needed: Water, Sneakers, a mat and/or towel, a strap for stretching (like a belt for a robe) This is optional.

Kickbox Bootcamp (High Impact, sweaty workout that can be modified)

This full-body cardio and strength workout is designed to build strength and stamina while burning lots of calories. We'll do simple kickboxing combinations mixed with bootcamp drills. We'll finish it off with some abs and a stretch. My twin sister will show modifications for beginners or people who don't want to jump.

Equipment needed: Water, Sneakers and a mat and/or towel for push-ups and stretch.

HIIT Training with Weights (High Intensity Interval Training) All Levels

HIIT can help to reverse aging, increase your metabolism, decrease body fat, increase strength and endurance, and improve health outcomes. This class of 40 seconds of work and 20 seconds of rest achieves fitness and health benefits in a shorter duration. You'll go through different stations that include weights, BOSU, rebounders, steps as well as group intervals. HIIT training is an effective workout for people of all fitness levels, and it can be modified.

Equipment needed: Water, Sneakers and a mat/or towel. Bring dumbbells if you have them to ensure you have weights you are comfortable with.

Family Programming:

Touch-a-Truck
Date: June 30th from 10-12AM

At the Wee Wah’s Touch a Truck, children and guests of all ages can fulfill their dreams of sitting behind the wheel of a fire truck or honking a dump truck’s horn. The event features emergency and rescue vehicles as well as traditional construction trucks courtesy of the DPW.

Wee Wah Kids Craft Corner
TBD
Paint a colorful birdhouse and bring it home with you! We’ll craft away and enjoy some fun nature DIY art projects– from decorating pinecones to creating lion leaf crafts.

Welcome to The 2024 Wee Wah Park & Beach Club Season (Posted 5/19/24)

Dear Members and Friends,
Welcome to the 2024 season at the Wee Wah! We're thrilled to announce that our much-anticipated season kicks off on Memorial Day weekend, Friday the 24th, at 1:00 PM sharp! As we gear up for another fantastic summer, we have exciting updates and plans in store for you.

The recent installation of the floating dock, the unveiling of our new sign, and the setup of boats and paddleboards signal the start of what promises to be an incredible season of lakeside fun. Our dedicated lifeguards will be on duty daily from 1 PM to 8 PM, ensuring your safety and enjoyment in the water. Plus, we've arranged for extra coverage on weekends and holidays for added peace of mind. If you're interested in joining our team as a lifeguard or checker, please reach out to Arch Pools, Maureen.Rosati@archamenity.com for more information.

Planning a special event or celebration? We're here to help! Simply contact the Village at wwp@tuxedopark-ny.gov with your requests.

While we've strived to keep our membership fees consistent with last season, increases in staffing and insurance costs necessitate a slight adjustment for the 2024 season.

Your understanding and support are greatly appreciated as we continue to enhance your experience at Wee Wah Park. Applications and fees for the upcoming season are now live on the Village website. Don't miss out on securing your spot early for a summer filled with fun in the sun! Click here to access your application and join us for another memorable season at Wee Wah Park.

Lastly, we're excited to share that plans for a new playground are in the works. Stay tuned for more details and updates on this exciting addition to our park.

Let's make waves together and create lasting memories at Wee Wah Park this season.

We can't wait to see you by the lake!

Warm regards,

A Letter of Appreciation to Our Members (Posted 8/27/23)

Dear Members,

It's hard to believe how swiftly this summer season has passed – it feels like we were kicking off the festivities just yesterday.

We hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits as you relish the season's joys. Get ready to mark your calendars, as the Tuxedo Club fireworks are set to illuminate the night sky next Saturday, September 2, 2023. To add to the excitement, we've extended the Saturday hours until 11:00 PM, giving you more time to revel in the festivities.

Mayor David McFadden and the entire Committee wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of you who have shared your delightful stories and experiences with us throughout the summer. Your stories warm our hearts and reinforce the sense of community we cherish here at the Club.

As we look forward to the future, our sights are set on the exciting initiatives ahead. We're gearing up to raise funds for next year's physical improvements, which might encompass an array of enhancements. These could range from a brand-new building for lavatories, lockers, and showers to extending pathways and seating to the Grove, introducing a new dock for launching water toys and boats, and even creating a new enclosure for our vigilant lifeguards.

Whether or not you can contribute financially, there's a meaningful way for each of you to play a part in shaping the future. We invite you to share your experiences through a glowing 5-star review. Pen a brief paragraph about your enriching moments this summer, and feel free to include a cherished photograph snapped at the park. With your kind permission, we'll proudly share your review with Mayor McFadden and the Trustees.

As the season draws to a close, we want you to know that we're already counting down the days until your return. Enjoy the remainder of this season, and let the anticipation of the next one fill your heart with excitement.

Warmest Regards,
WWP&BC Committee
